The Bank of Victoria, Melbourne branch cheque 187., No. 'A'; another, the City Bank, Sydney Branch, 187., No. 'B'. Australian cheques, promissory notes, Victoria 1892-1949, all printed with red Victorian stamp duty seals by the government printer. Fine-extremely fine. (16)

Australian cheques and business papers, a group of modern Australian cheques, a wide selection mostly 1960's and 1970's (30) plus a selection of traveller's cheques from Barclays Bank Limited for two, ten, twenty and fifty pounds sterling of the old style cheques issued up to mid 1960's and two, five, ten and twenty pounds of the new style issued from the mid 1960's (8). Together with a group of business papers including many relating to banking, insurance, department stores and motor vehicles, some with duty stamps and some relating to New Zealand (134). Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, special invitation to the official opening of the A.N.Z. Banking Museum by the Governor of Victoria, His Excellency Rear Admiral Sir Brian Murray, K.C.M.G., A.O., K.St.J. accompanied by Lady Murray on Tuesday 21st May 1985 at the Gothic Bank premises, 388 Collins Street, Melbourne. Beautiful ornate multicoloured certificate (32 x 40.5cm) including vignettes of the old Gothic Bank and the Bank's new multi storied headquarters within an ornate border. A nice item nearly uncirculated.

The Hamilton Hume Conveyance document with seals etc., dated 30th June 1858, between Hamiliton Hume of Cooma and Allan Campbell esq. of Yass as an indenture on vellum, for four hundred pounds and release from Elizabeth Hume for two hundred pounds the land at Yass with a total of nine hundred and fifty acres. The document is signed by Hamilton Hume twice and Elizabeth Hume once. Fine and a rare document of Australiana for such a significant explorer.
