Travellers specimen Cheques and other bank issues, an extensive collection annotated with banking correspondence and letters all described in two large folders and a file, from various banks, including Union Bank of Australia London Office Credit specimen forms etc as booklet, duplicate demand letters 1868 & 1874, assorted (24) cheques as sight cheques and due cheques on Australian banks c. 1850-1890's, Bank of Australasia from 1876 letters of credit and various sterling cheques, specimen travellers cheques as issues from ANZ bank from 1951 to 1980's, Bank of NSW including quantity of blank cheques, ESA Bank, Commonwealth Trading Bank, CBA, National Bank of Australia and others banks, lot also includes issued folders for various travellers cheques, letters of credit, bank cheques, and a few travellers cheques from other overseas banks, blank cheques, forms etc. Mostly extremely fine and an exceptional collection. Ex J.S. Reid Collection. This collection was to be the basis of a paper on the above material. To this end Mr. Reid compiled notes and a catalogue of the collection which suggests that it was intended for ultimate publication, consequently this lot should be acquired by a serious student or institution with the intent to further research this collection and history of the subject.
