Union Bank of Australia Limited, Fifty pounds, without engraved branch name, dated 1 March 1905, Waterlow colour trial specimen in dark blue and gold, the back brown, the word 'Specimen' in red on an angle at left and right, and a blue Waterlow & Sons circular specimen seal at bottom, both partially erased. Two tiny punch-hole cancels in each of the two signature and two serial spaces. Printers's record number '294' partially erased at top. The note has been washed and some loss of sizing, but retains its full colours, most attractive, very fine and extremely rare.

Shaw, on paper, no watermark, imprint of 'Bradbury Wilkinson & Co Engravers &c London', vignette of swan in wreath, and ornamental oval tablets with 'ONE' on upper left and right, all within rectangular ornate spiral border inscribed 'WESTERN AUSTRALIAN BANK' above and 'PERTH' below, states below, 'On Demand I Promise to pay the Bearer One Pound Sterling at Perth. For the Western Australian Bank', with blue 'ONE POUND' across centre of note, on back '1' in three geometric circles all within block, blue and black on white/blue on white, (Vort-Ronald, Type three (c), comments on bank and type p.235-8, similar issued note illustrated Fig. 243 [p.237]). Corner missing, fold holes, heavy folds and creases, otherwise nearly fine and very rare.

Private Traders Currency Note, George Shenton, one pound, Perth, Western Australia, November 1, 1865. No.439, signed by G Shenton and entered by Geo. Shenton Jnr. Green on yellow including National Bank of Australasia Ltd., bank stamps for branches Geraldton and Perth.(VR. Page 23, Fig.29 actual note). Some folds and three pinholes, otherwise good fine. The endorsement is dated 19th June 1868, proving these notes served as currency. Only a few circulating notes are known, this being the finest and extremely rare.
