Documents, a series of articles, letters and photos relating to William McKinnon who had a distinguished policing career throughout Australia from 1923 up to 1962, including with the Central Australia Mounted Police on Camel Patrol and then to Port Darwin in 1941 during the Japanese air raids, noted one letter signed personally by William McKinnon, also a copy of his one-and-a-half page statement in relation to an incident at Darwin Aerodrome in 1954 involving a Russian, Mrs Petrov, and members of the Russian Diplomatic Corps, as well there is included a detailed 'Nomination for an Award in The Order of Australia' for William McKinnon, nominated by B.R.Bennett in 1995, an excellent compilation of documents for a police officer who Brian Bennett described as a 'national treasure'.
