New South Wales, Currency Note, Blaxcell, Garnham, ten shillings, Sydney 181(4) Septr 1st No 7 (MVR fig. 10) (five shillings), listed under figure 13, Sterling Money at Fifty percent Discount crossed out (Briggs and McCullagh type 3, page 4). Frail, edge tears and piece missing, otherwise well centred and very good, very rare, the only ten shillings with Sydney followed by the year.

Treasury Bill by the Deputy Commissary General's Office, Sydney New South Wales, 24th December 1817 for pounds sterling 45.12.6 to the order of Mr William Casar, as salary due to him as "Master Boat Builder in this Colony", No.105 and handsigned by Deputy Commissary General, David Allen and approved by Governor Lachlan Macquarie. On official 'crown' international parchment with the impressed Seal of the Commisariat. One of the earliest Colonial Treasury Bills known and of the highest rarity. Small section of bottom left corner and lower edge missing, pin hole to centre, otherwise a full note, very fine or better and extremely rare.

Bank of New South Wales, Certificate for one share Bank Capital Stock one hundred pounds Mrs Margaret Campbell (wife of Robert Campbell Junior, the first accountant of the Bank), No. 117, Sydney 23 February 1820, signed by Jno Thos Campbell President, and Anthill Directors and entered by Fras. Williams signed on the back "Received Sixty pounds Sterling (?60stg out of the Bank Stock on account of the within share M. Campbell". Printed on thick parchment, plate heavily embossed into the paper, miniature pin-holes otherwise good very fine and the excessively rare first issue certificate.

Van Diemen's Land, Bank of Van Diemen's Land, attested copy of share no 3 to Thomas MacGuire for Two Hundred Spanish Dollars, signed by E.F.Bromley President, Walter A.Bethune, Anthony Fern Kemp Directors; Witnessed by George Frederick Orde, signed R.Lewis cashier; Certified by George Cartwright Notary Public with red wax seal, sixth April eighteen twenty four, Thomas MacGuire, Colour Sergeant in His Majesty's Forty Eighth Regiment paid in ten instalments Nov 1st, 21st December 12th 1823, January 9th, February 20th and April 6th (last five at one time). The only survivor of the original share issue of this Bank, which opened as a Chartered Bank 15 March 1824, incorporated for seven years and became a Joint Stock Bank in 1828. Paper watermarked 1821 J.Rump crowned oval cartouche of Britannia, sold with research. Very fine.
