Nero Claudius Drusus, father of Germanicus and Claudius, died 9 B.C., gold aureus (7.63 g), Lugdunum mint, struck under Claudius, 41-42 A.D., obv. Laureate head of Drusus to left, around NERO CLAVDIVS DRVSVS GERMANICVS IMP, Rev. two oblong shields crossed, upright vexillum and crossed spears and trumpets in the background, spaced around DE GERMANIS, (S.1893, RIC I 73 [Claudius]; BMCRE 104 [Claudius]; Cohen 7). Good very fine and very rare.

Galba, (A.D. 68-69), gold aureus, issued July - August 68, Rome mint, (7.13 g), obv. laureate head to right of Galba, around IMP SER GALBA CAESAR AVG P M, rev. SALVS GEN HVMANI around, Salus or Fortuna standing to left holding a patera and rudder, right foot on globe, in front an altar, (cf.S.2092, RIC 231, Cal.505, C. 239). Traces of mint bloom, off centred obverse, very fine and very rare.

Constantinopolis seated to left holding cross on globe and sceptre, IMP XXXXII COS XVII P.P. around, CONOB in exergue, star in left field, (cf.S.4288, RIC 314). Large broad flan, superb quality and as struck, good extremely fine, rare in this condition.
