Thailand, Rattanakosin Centennial Commemorative medal, AE 71mm; issued 1882, (130 grams), obv. king Rama V to left, wearing the sash of the Knight Grand Cordon (Special class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant and other medals, legend below around of king's royal style and title, rev. The temple of the emerald Buddha viewed from the east this with inscription reading in part 'to commemorate his majesty the king's instruction ..to repair the damaged Wat Sri Rattana Sasadarum (Emerald Buddha Temple)' and tells of starting and finishing dates. Uneven reverse tone, extremely fine and extremely rare.
