The Bank of Australasia, proof, one pound on cardboard, uniface, Parramatta, unadopted design, not dated (but c.1850), no number, SPECIMEN stamped twice on front, Perkins Bacon & Petch, London, Patent Hardened Steel Plate, (cf.MVR fig. 56 p.58). Corners angled cut, glue adhesion in corners and on sides on back, light stains, otherwise good very fine and rare.

Bank of New South Wales, proof, one pound on cardboard, uniface, Bathurst, not dated 18-, but in pencil June 27th 1860, no number, Perkins Bacon & Co. London, Patent Hardened Steel Plate, (cf.MVR fig. 78 p.79). 'To This July (erased) June 27th 1860' in pencil lower right, corners angled cut, glue adhesion in corners on back, otherwise good very fine and rare.

'March 11th 1889' in pencil lower right, three cancellation holes, beside manager, corners angled cut, glue adhesion in corners on back, otherwise extremely fine and rare.

London, red and white, (cf.MVR fig. 101 p.98). 'date added 5th Oct. 1865' in pencil lower right beside manager, minor evidence of glue adhesion in corners on back, otherwise good very fine and rare.

Bank of Van Diemen's Land, Hobart Town, one pound, dated 1 July 1881, not numbered, proof, unsigned, stamped SPECIMEN, on card, no watermark, imprint of 'Perkins Bacon & Co. London Patented Hardened Steel Plate', vignette on left, of farming scene and distant ships, and ornamental oval tablet with ONE on upper right and ONE in rectangular tablet lower left, all within rectangular ornate spiral border, states below, 'We promise ..... For the President & Company of the Branch', black on white, (Vort-Ronald, Type three, comments on bank and type p.108-112, similar note but £5 illustrated Fig. 118 [p.112], no examples from bank in the Spink Perkins Bacon Archive sale). Heavy folds in six places, small holes and tears at folds, a complete note, otherwise very good - fine, rare.

Shaw, on paper, no watermark, imprint of 'Bradbury Wilkinson & Co Engravers &c London', vignette of swan in wreath, and ornamental oval tablets with 'ONE' on upper left and right, all within rectangular ornate spiral border inscribed 'WESTERN AUSTRALIAN BANK' above and 'PERTH' below, states below, 'On Demand I Promise to pay the Bearer One Pound Sterling at Perth. For the Western Australian Bank', with blue 'ONE POUND' across centre of note, on back '1' in three geometric circles all within block, blue and black on white/blue on white, (Vort-Ronald, Type three (c), comments on bank and type p.235-8, similar issued note illustrated Fig. 243 [p.237]). Corner missing, fold holes, heavy folds and creases, otherwise nearly fine and very rare.
