George VI, Melbourne Mint proof penny 1945. A brilliant red and brown specimen striking, FDC and excessively rare. The only example in private hands. Ex Museum of Victoria Duplicates Sale (lot 953). In this final year of World War II Melbourne did not strike currency pennies only those struck by Perth were supplied to Treasury. This coin along with the 1945 shilling is one of the rarest Australian coins and destined to become one of our most prized rarities.

Elizabeth II, Melbourne Mint proof a specimen set, 1953, florin, shilling, sixpence, threepence and penny. the silver brilliant with even blue grey tone, the penny dark toned and a little dull on the reverse, FDC and extremely rare (5). Twelve such sets were supplied to the Chase Manhattan Bank Money Museum and this is one of them and the first we have handled.
