Celtic, Danubian Celts Dacia, Noricum, (2nd century B.C.), silver tetradrachm of didrachm weight (7.82 grams), obv. crude celticized head of Philip II to right, rev. crude horse to left, (Pink 304, Castelin 1319, De La Tour 9883, Pl. 50). Very fine and scarce.

Sicily, Syracuse, (400-370 B.C.), silver decadrachm, (42.07 grams), obv. charioteer driving fast quadriga left, Nike flying above holding fillet, armour and helmet on steps in exergue, rev. head of Artemis-Arethusa to left, surrounded by four dolphins, cockle shell behind neck, traces of legend above, (cf.S.954; Gallatin dies XI/E1; ACNAC Dewing 905 same dies; Jameson Collection 829 same dies). Minor scratches in field on obverse and reverse, some tooling on the reverse, otherwise good very fine with attractive dark tone.

Sicily, Siculo-Punic, Rash Melqart (Selinus or Lilybaeum?), (350-300 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.16 grams), Rash Melqart mint, obv. galloping quadriga to right, guided by charioteer in long chiton, in exergue Punic script for `Rshlqrt' rev. head of Arethusa to right, surrounded by four dolphins, (cf.S.891; G.K.Jenkins `Coins of Punic Sicily Part I, SNR 50 (1971), No.8 [Plate 15 same reverse die], cf.SNG ANS 721). Die crack across neck on reverse, extremely fine with some mint bloom, an exceptional piece of great rarity.

Small flan, with crude obverse style, good very fine.

Zeus seated to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left ALEXANDROU, to right [B]ASILEWS, to left under arm YE, below throne a monogram, (S.-; Price 1181, M.419, BMC 1181, SNG Cop.723-4). Large flan with centred obverse, distinctive head and lion skin, type of very late style, off-centred reverse, otherwise extremely fine and rare.
