EDWARD VIII, 1937, set of four privately issued pattern/proof crowns Great Britain, in (.925) silver, copper, Barton's metal (gold plated copper) and golden alloy. Obverse features uncrowned head of King sculpted by Donald R. Golding, which is based on a combination of the 1936 submitted designs by McMillan dn Paget. Reverse design of wreath containing crown is akin to the Kruger Gray currency motif. Plain edge. One of only 850 sets issued. (4)
