Lot 4326

Estimate $200
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $150

CHARLES II, 1677, edge V.NONO, with the obverse countermarked B.MASON *, within toothed rectangular indent. Host coin fair, countermark very fine and unpublished.

Ex. Terry Nield Collection and Glendining's London, June 25 1997 (lot 164) and with packet from sale. The countermark is not noted by Brunk of recorded on any bronze coins by J. Gavin Scott. Possibly a Britsh countermark but could be from a non-English issuer. Certainly in need of more extensive research and investigation

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
