SAMARIA, Satrap issue, (375-345 B.C.), silver hemi obol, (0.255 grams), obv. head of satrap to l., wearing Persian tiara, border of dots, rev. Persian king walking to r., holding sceptre or dagger with both hands, to left, in Aramaic, of the flan [pOD], (Meshorer & Qedar 'Coinage of Samaria' (CS), CS 4 (15 known), and Samaria Hoard No.36 (CS), (this coin illustrated and described). Very fine for issue and very rare.
