Jalalu-D-Din Firoz Shah II, (689-695 A.H., 1290-1296 A.D.), silver Tankas, (10.78 grams), Delhi mint, dated 691, obv. four lines, (The Iman Al Mustansim, the commander of the faithful), rev. four lines, (The most mighty Sultan Jalalu-D-Din wa ud din the Victorious Firoz Shah the Sultan), (Wright 282, Hull 185, M.2536, IMC 177, BMC 142, Rajgor 972); another similar dated 692, Delhi mint. (10.61 grams), (Wright 283). Very fine and scarce. (2)
Firoz founded the Khalji Dynasty and was 70 years old at his accession. He had two sons, his favourite however murdered him to become his successor.
