Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 231, Rome mint, (2.665 grams), obv. laureate head to right, around IMP ALEXAN DER PIVS AVG, rev. P M TR P X COS III P P, Mars standing left, holding spear downwards and shield, (cf.S.2225, RIC 108, RSC 409a). Some original mint bloom, extremely fine, and scarce in this condition.
