Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 201-210, (3.350 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around INDVLGENTIA AVGG, in exergue IN CARTH, Dea Caelestis, facing, seated on lion, holding thunderbolt and sceptre, lion springing to right, (S.1756, RIC 266, RSC 222). Large flan, nearly extremely fine.
