Phoenicia, Sidon, king Abdeshmun (c.410-400 B.C.), silver half-shekel, (6.908 grams), obv. war galley travelling to left before battlemented city wall with four towers, two lions back to back in exergue, rev. King of Persia slaying lion standing before him, all in incuse square, (cf.S.5931 [£650], Bet 8 [ANSMN 21], BMC 9 [p.141], Betylon 9 [p.7, cf.Pl.2, 3]). With two major test cuts, otherwise fine and very rare.
