Attica, Athens, (166-57 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.682 grams), issued 140-139 B.C., (Thompson date) but probably 108-7 B.C. (revised chronology), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right wearing triple-crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with Pegasus, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, in erect posture, on prostrate amphora, Tyche with amphora on right standing to left, probably a Z on the amphora, legend across **A QE, to left EUMH LOS, KAL LI FWN HPA, ME?* below, all within wreath, (cf.S.2555, cf.Thompson 738 same obverse die, uncertain reverse die). Nearly very fine and rare.
