QUEEN VICTORIA, proof maundy set, 1839 (S.3816). Light peripheral tone, FDC and rare. (4)
Ex B.A. Seaby, London. The proof set can be distinguished from the ordinary (non-proof set) as the reverse design is not inverted, i.e. it is struck 'en medaille' and is the only Victorian young head maundy set to be so. This was most probably originally part of a Una and Lion 1839 gold silver and copper set.
Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price.
