CARACALLA, (as Caesar), (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 196-198, Rome mint, (3.526 grams), obv. bare head to right of Caracalla, around M AVR ANTON CAES PONTIF, rev. lituus, apex, bucranium and simpulum, around DESTINATO IMPERAT, (S.1890, RIC 6, RSC 53). Slightly off centred on the reverse, otherwise extremely fine/good very fine and rare.
