SICILY, Panormus or ZIZ (Punic for Panormus), (410-400 B.C.), Copper hemilitron, (16.166 grams), obv. cock to right, rev. six pellets, (S.1155, Calciati I, p.269 No.1, Weber 1487, SNG Cop. 516, McLean 2494). Attractive brown patina, nearly very fine and rare.

Kraay (The Bronze Coinage of Himera and 'Himera' in Annali dell'Istituto Italano di Numismatica Sup. to volume 25, Naples 1979), discusses the chronology of this series in conjunction with the similar coinage of Himera and places the issue in the last decade of the 5th century. He lists the weight of 26 examples in public and private collections, probably about 50 examples survive today.
