ELIZABETH II, two cents 1972 struck on a blank of weight 3.998 grams. Very fine and very rare.

The Royal Australian Mint struck bronze two cent coins for the Cook Islands in 1972 on a weight standard of 4.147 grams. This clearly suggests that it was a Cook Island two cents blank that was struck with Australian two cent dies. The Australian two cents coin was made to a weight standard 5.18 grams.
