Syria, Kingdom of, Alexander I (Balas), (150-145 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (13.77 grams), Tyre mint, dated year 165 = 148/7 B.C., obv. bust of Alexander I to right with diademed, within dotted border, rev. eagle standing to left on prow of galley, palm-branch behind, Tyre monogram above club, year to right **EXR*, around ALEXANDROU BASILEWS*, FP, monogram below, (S.7033, Newell 'Seleucid Coinages of Tyre' ANS NN&M 73, No.70). Slightly off centred obverse, otherwise very fine.
