Sicily, Syracuse, (c.439-435 B.C. Boehringer, but now believed to be c.420 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.35 grams), obv. slow quadriga driven to right by male charioteer with goad, Nike flying left crowning rider, rev. **SUPAKO[SION]* around, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, hair tied up behind in spendone, four dolphins around, (cf.S.933 [£1000], Boehringer 722.6 (This Coin, obv. 355, rev. 493), SNG ANS 244 (same dies), BMC 109 [same dies], Jameson 779 [same dies]). Very dark tone, very fine, very rare.

Ex. C.S. Bement Collection, sold in Lucerne Switzerland, Naville & Co, Sale VI, 28th January 1924 (lot 482 illustrated and realised 340 SFr.). An issue of very fine style. Boehringer records only 10 specimens from these dies, with only a few in private collections. This example is number 6 in his book.
