Description
Buteshire, Rothsay, William Kelly's Rothsay Mills, halfpennies, similar ring punch countermarked on a George III (1770-5) halfpenny with additional S countermark on reverse. Another on a Willim III halfpenny (very worn host coin) (Davis 65,S.St98). Countermarks good fine, rare. (2)
The first acquired in 1960's, second ex Alex Hannah Collection (lot 668 part).
