Queen's South Africa Medal 1899 - two bars - Cape Colony; Orange Free State, 63 Pte J. Griggs Victoria M.R. Bars loose on ribbon. Impressed. Very fine.
James Griggs served in 1st VMR. As a member of the First Victorian Mounted Infantry Company, he embarked in the S.S. Medic at Melbourne on 28 October 1899, returning in the Harlech Castle arriving in Melbourne on 4 December 1900.
