Group of Six: Distinguished Conduct Medal (GVR); Queen's South Africa Medal 1899 - two bars - Orange Free State; South Africa 1902; 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal (M.I.D); Bronze Medal for Military Valour (Italy). Sjt J. Ring 6/R. Muns. Fus. Mounted for wear on two separate bars. Last medal engraved 'Balkan Frontier 1916' in field of reverse and named to recipient on rim, others impressed. Slight edge knocks and contact marks. Generally near very fine.

DCM:L.G. 26 July 1917: 'For Conspicuous Gallantry and Devotion to Duty. With a small party he gained the enemy trench and maintained his position until relieved. He has at all times set a splendid example to his men'. M.I.D: L.G 6 December 1916. Mentioned in the Commanding General, British Salonika Army, Lieut Gen G.F. Milne's dispatch of 8 October 1916.
