Syria, Kingdom of, Seleucus I, (312-280 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.08 grams), Ecbatana mint, issued c.293-280 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, monogram, anchor and forepart of horse to left and monogram under throne, to right **SELEUKOU*, (cf.S.6829, Newell ESM 493, [p.178, pl.XXXVII,6). Very fine.
