Italy, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (7.29 grams), obv. head of female to right, the hair is held bound by fillet and forming a top knot of loose locks, rev. corn ear, META**P to left, stalk to right, scallop shell above stalk, (cf.S.409, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 492, SNG ANS 371 [same dies]). Nearly very fine and rare.
