Italy, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (7.48 grams), obv. head of female to right, wearing band, all enclosed within wreath, rev. corn ear, MET to left on stalk, crayfish or lobster to right, (cf.S.406, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 418, present only in Vienna and Berlin collections for these same dies). Nearly very fine and very rare.

The type is not present according to Noe and Johnston in any of the major Collections and Sylloges (except Berlin and Austria) and only these dies are known. A type of great rarity.
