Description

Constans II, (A.D. 641-668), gold solidus of thick fabric and small module, issued at Carthage mint in A.D. 659-668, (4.2 grams), obv. facing busts of rulers Constans II bearded, and Constantine IV beardless, rev. busts of Heraclius and Tiberius, cross on base and two steps, (S.1044, DOC 126). Abrasion on edge and reverse field, weakly struck as usual, very fine, very scarce.
