All medals impressed.; together with another group of six identical to first group with identical impressed naming. Display mounted, verdigris on some medals, otherwise good very fine. (2 sets)
James Haynes, labourer, born 21Jun1906 at Singleton, NSW; Enl.24Jun1940 at Paddington, Sydney, NSW;TOS 9 R.R.Bn 28Aug1940; Emb.03Feb1941 to Middle East; RTA 09Feb1942; to 14 Aust Lab Coy 25Jul1942; Emb.31Aug1942 to Port Moresby; RTA 30Dec1942; medical assessment requiring restriction to certain duties 31May1943; Emb.24Aug1943 to New Guinea; RTA 11Dec1943; Emb.11Feb1944 to New Guinea; RTA 15Feb1944; Disch.25Feb1944; James Haynes completed a statutory declaration in 1967 advising that he had lost his Discharge Certificate in a house fire and presumably his medals as there are indications in his Service File that replacement medals were paid for and presumably he also found the original medals as indicated by the two groups offered here.
