Group of Six: 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Pacific Star; Defence Medal 1939-45; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. First three medals unnamed, NX10196 H.A.Foster on last three medals. The named medals impressed. Display mounted, toning on first three medals, the last two with some light contact marks, otherwise good very fine - extremely fine.

Henry Albert Foster, barber, born 16Sep1906 at St Ives, NSW; Enl.19Mar1940 at Paddington, Sydney, NSW; TOS 2/1 MG Bn 19Mar1940; Emb.04May1940 to Scotland; Emb.04Nov1940 to Middle East; graded Grp II Cook 02Jan1941; Emb.16Apr1941 to Greece; relinquished Grp II Cook 08Oct1941; sentenced to 6 months imprisonment with hard labour for striking his superior officer 11Nov1941; trf to Aust MG Trg Bn 04Apr1942; various postings until RTA 25Jan1943; Emb.09Aug1943 to Milne Bay; graded Grp II Cook 06Oct1943; TOS 2/2 Aust MG Bn 06Oct1943; RTA 26Feb1944; Disch.09Jun1945 there being no suitable vacancy in which his services could be employed; Died 23Jun1946 intestate and his daughter wrote to the Army on 09Nov1953 regarding his medals. They advised that the 1939-45 Star, Africa Star with clasp and Pacific Star had been posted to him and had not been returned unclaimed. They advised that the other medals had been sent for naming and would be sent to the Public Trusteee.
