Frederick Gerald Nation, mechanic, born 04Oct1921 at Yackandanda, Vic; Enl.31May1940 at Melbourne, Vic; to AC1 on enlistment and to No.4 S.T.T; to Fitter IIA 27Oct1940; Emb.26Jun1941 to Middle East; various postings; to LAC 01Nov1941; injured with cuts and abrasions while a passenger in a bantam carrier when the driver swerved to avoid an accident and LAC Nation was thrown off the carrier 01Oct1943; to England 11Jan1944; to T/Cpl 01Mar1944; to T/Sgt 01Aug1945; RTA arriving at Melbourne, Vic 03Jan1946; Disch.25Sep1946; F.G.Nation's medals were stolen in 1986 and replacements were issued but in 1997 he requested that they be corrected as they had the wrong initials, F.C. instead of F.G. and they were subsequently replaced.
