Trio: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 1619 Bdr S.A.Hillback 3/F.A.Bde A.I.F. Impressed. Very fine.
MID LG 28Jan1916 p1207, COAG 06Apr1916, p861 for Lone Pine. 'These NCOs and men distinguished themselves by their gallantry and devotion to duty on the 7th/9th under very heavy guns. The embrasures of our guns were completely demolished and the detachments had many times to work in the open until repairs had been effected. On the morning of the 9th over 600 shells fell into the Battery position'.
