Syria, Kingdom of, Antiochos VIII, (121-96 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.54 g), Antioch mint, first reign, issued 121-113 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochos VIII to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus Uranius with crescent above standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right **BASILEOS and **ANTIOCOU and to left **EPIFANOUS, to left IE over A, to right, between figure and inscription N, (cf.S.7142, SC 2298.2e, Newell SMA 367, SNG von Post 597 [This Coin], BMC 10, SNG Spaer 2495, HGC 9, 1197e). Delightful patination of gold and blue, good extremely and very rare in this condition.
