Peloponnesos, Elis, Olympia, 78th-82nd Olympiad, (c.460s-450s B.C.), silver stater, (11.50 g), obv. eagle flying to left, with wings folded down with tail bent down, claws grasping a hare to left, rev. F A either side of a Thunderbolt with wings curled downwards within shallow incuse square, (cf.S.2859, Seltman 104 [p.27, Pl.III], BCD Olympia 327,4 [(Leu 90, May 10, 2004], This Coin illustrated]). Nearly very fine and very rare.
Ex Fred shore, USA, January 11, 2007 (for $1800 US) later purchased from CNG Triton XIII, January 5, 2010 (lot 2174 part) originally from the BCD Collection, previously from the Leu Sale 90 (lot 327), also listed by Noble Numismatics Auction Sale 92 (lot 5089). Lot includes collector's tickets and Fred Shore tickets in a flip.
