Peloponnesos, Achaia, Achaian League, Megara (Megaris), (c.175-168 B.C.), silver triobol or hemidrachm (2.10 g), obv. laureate head of Zeus right, rev. Achaian League XA monogram in laurel wreath, above cithera (large Lyre), to left H and right PO, all within wreath, (cf.S.2978, Benner 5, BCD Peloponnesos 27.3 [LHS 96], Clerk 121, Agrinion Hoard 450-462, Hunterian 16, McClean 6434-5). Old cabinet patination, very fine and rare, with descriptive ticket in a 2x2 flip.
Ex Spink & Son, London, December 18, 1992 as a private purchase, coming from the Diakofto Hoard (IGCH 262).
