Bithynia, kings of, Nikomedes IV Philopator, (94-74 B.C.), silver tetradrachm (16.76 g), Nikomedeia Mint, CY 206 = 93/2 B.C., obv. diademed head of Nikomedes IV to right, rev. **BASILEWS - EPIFANOUS / NIKOMHDOU* to left and right, Zeus standing front, head to left, crowning the king's name with his right hand and holding long sceptre in his left, to left, eagle standing left on thunderbolt above magistrate's monogram and date CZ (date), (S.7276, BMC 1 ['Nicomedes III'], Callatay, p. 61., HGC 7, 646, RG p. 232). Delightful cabinet grey patination, well struck, extremely fine and rare.
