Thessaly, Pharkadon, (c.440-400 B.C.), silver hemidrachm (2.60 g), obv. Thessalos, nude but for petasos and cloak tied at neck, standing right, holding band across horns of forepart of bull leaping right, rev. forepart of bridled horse right within incuse square, around **F-A-R-K*, (S.2183, BCD Thessaly II 604 [same dies, realised $1000], Pozzi [Boutin] 2840, cf.BMC 1). Very fine, lightly toned, sightly porous, light cleaning marks, rare.
