Thrace, Kingdom of, Lysimachus, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.59 g), Byzantium Mint, issued after 282/1 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, R inner left, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **LUSIMAXOU*, (cf.S.6814, Thompson -, M.555, cf.Mektepini 121, Armenak - [ANS MN 31], SNG Cop. -, Meydancikkale -). Grey tone, Good very fine/very fine and very rare.
Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 79 (lot 3249) from the George Tuck Pittman USA Collection. Lot includes collectors' descriptive ticket.
The issue is very similar to Mektepini (pl.5, 121), but that example has a small BY placed on the throne.
