Indonesia, Sumatra, (c.11th-13th century), AE 'Jambi lion' coin, (4.74g), obv. lion bust with with oddly raised snout, T-shaped umbrella above, fly whisk to right, uncertain symbol left, outer border of dots, rev. full body lion facing left, on paw raised holding sword, border of dots (cf Zeno 310216, 330057) Nearly extremely fine for issue, extremely rare.

Coins of this type are reportedly being recovered during dredging work on the Jambi Musi river, with their origin and date uncertain.
