Public Schools Amateur Athletic Association, prize medal in voided gold (9ct; 1.82g; 22mm), by ZI, ring top suspension, obverse inscribed, 'First/Prize/M.H/Sailors/Hornpipe', reverse inscribed, 'P.S.A.A.A./1908'. A few contact marks, otherwise very fine.
Sailor's Hornpipe, also known as The College Hornpipe and Jack's the Lad, is a traditional hornpipe melody and linked dance with origins in the Royal Navy.
