Lloyd Pursehouse, patrol officer on the Hagen-Sepik Patrol, born 04Nov1912 at Goulburn, NSW; attended Canberra Grammar School where he was school captain in 1930; initially served as a civilian coastwatcher stationed at Finschafen, NG; Enl.01Jun1943 in M Special Unit at Port Moresby, Australian New Guinea; KIA 17Jan1944 near Sio, New Guinea at rank of T/Captain while attached to 2/17Bn; commemorated at Lae Memorial, PNG, Canberra Grammar School Roll of Honour and memorial window in school chapel, and Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour.
