John Thomas Roebuck, labourer, age 18, born at Newtown, Sydney, NSW; Enl.12Feb1934 at Belmore, Sydney, NSW, in militia; Disch.01Jun1935 ex 56Bn; AIF enlistment, now a roof tiler, age 25; Enl.21Nov1941 at Paddington, Sydney, NSW; Emb.10Jan1942 with 2/19 Infy Bn; Missing 16Feb1942 and then reported POW in Borneo and Malaya; Died 16May1945 from illness while on the Sandakan Death March; commemorated at Labuan Memorial, Malaysia.
