The first medal issued by Royal Navy, 350768 C.C.Birkett, S.B.S., R.N., the second medal issued by RAN, O.N. 3680 C.C.Birkett. S.B.S, the third medal is a reproduction, unnamed, 3680 C.C.Birkett. S.B.S. R.A.N. on last medal. All named medals impressed.
Charles Covell Birkett, born 01May1881 at London, England; entered RAN 10Feb1914 at Sydney, NSW ex RAN as Sick Berth Steward; served at HMAS Cerberus, Gayundah, Penguin, Psyche, and Tingira; awarded LS&GC Medal based on time served including 11 years 10 months with RN; Disch.21Jul1919, time expired; Died 08Dec1947 at Stepney, London, England.
