Maximian, as Augustus, first reign (A.D. 286-305), AE follis, Trier Mint, issued A.D. 296-7, (10.62 g), obv. laureate head to right of Maximian, around IMP MAXIMIANVS P F AVG, rev. around GENIO POPV LI R OMANI, Genius standing to left, holding patera and cornucopiae, in exergue TR, A - **G* in field, (S.13238, RIC 181b, C.159). Extremely fine, with about complete original silvering.
