Commodus, (A.D. 177-192), AE sestertius, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 189, (21.40 g), obv. laureate head of Commodus to right, around M COMMODVS ANT P FELIX AVG BRIT, rev. around MINER [VICT P] M TR P XIIII IMP VIII [COS V] P P, S C across field, Minerva standing to left holding Victory and spear, shields at feet, trophy behind, (S.5770, RIC 528, C.369). Dark brown patina, good very fine, with extremely fine portrait, usual misshapened flan, rare.
