Victoria Volunteer Long and Efficient Service Medal 1881-1901, type 1 'Aut Pace Aut Bello'. E.R.Evans _ 1881. Impressed. Nicely toned, extremely fine.

The following was published in The Argus (Melbourne, Vic) on Monday 7 November 1881, p8. General Order No.101/81 - Long and Efficient Service Medal - The board appointed in General Order No.109/80 has passed and approved the claims of the undermentioned volunteers, and the officer commanding the Volunteer Force has duly confirmed the proceedings of the said board to date. The medals have been transmitted to the contractors for the engraving of names on the rim, and will be issued as soon as possible. One of the names on the list for the Royal V. Regiment of Artillery was Quartermaster-Sergeant E.R.Evans, M.A. 2nd Brigade.
