Julius Caesar, (assasinated 44 B.C.), (c.49-48 B.C.), silver denarius, mint moving with Caesar, (4.06 g), obv. elephant to right trampling on serpent, CAESAR in exergue, rev. simpulum, sprinkler, axe and priest's hat, (S.1399, Cr.443/1, Syd.1006, Julius Caesar 49). Attractive cabinet toning, flan flaw on reverse, very fine - good very fine, very scarce.
